About the University
The University of Leicester was established in 1921, making it one of the oldest universities of excellence in management education in UK. It was granted its Royal Charter and Degree Awarding Powers in 1957. It is also a member of the Association of commonwealth Universities (ACU), giving its students international recognition.
The School of Management has provided courses in management since 1989 and its MBA is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA). ULSM is the second largest provider of Distance Learning Education in the UK. The Independent refers to the School of Management in the following terms: “One of Europe's largest management schools with a big emphasis on teaching and research.” (The Independent 13th May 2005).
The University has the joint highest scores for overall student satisfaction in England amongst mainstream universities (National Student Survey 2007). Leicester's student completion rates amongst the very highest.
